Social media for beauty product brands.

Storm runs Instagram and Facebook for beauty and haircare brands that sell through salons. We plan the month, write the captions, cut the video, post under the brand’s name, and answer the comments and messages. The goal is not a like. It is a client who asks for the product by name, then buys it again.

Problem first

Start with what goes wrong without it.

Mermaid Extension Care exists because clients of Mermaid’s Seattle and Kirkland salons could not find a shampoo they trusted on their extensions. The brand’s explanation is the whole pitch: oil, sulfates and silicone break down the bonds that hold tape-ins, keratin fusion and beads, which is why an extension can slip weeks before the next appointment.

So that is where the content starts. The slipped extension and the extra trip back to the chair come first. The bottle comes second. A product post that opens on the product is an ad, and she scrolls past ads.

Two buyers

The stylist recommends it. The client buys it.

A salon product line sells twice. The stylist has to believe in it enough to say it out loud in the chair, and the client has to remember it at home when the bottle runs out. The feed speaks to both: the stylist gets the one sentence to say, and the client gets the reason to reorder.

That is the part we know from the salon side. Storm runs the social for salons every week, so we hear how a product actually gets recommended, and what a client asks before she buys it.

What we take

The feed, start to finish.

The plan

A month of posts built around the problem each product solves, not a launch and then silence.

The captions

Written in the brand’s voice, plain enough for a stylist to repeat in the chair.

The edit

Vertical video from production, the salon floor and the product in use, cut to read in two seconds.

The posting

On a real schedule under the brand’s name, so the product stays in front of her between purchases.

The comments and DMs

Answered in the brand’s voice, with the ones from salons or buyers handed to you.

The salon side

If the brand sits next to a salon, the two feeds work together instead of competing.

Common questions

Asked the way brand founders ask.

Who does social media for beauty and haircare product brands?+

Storm does, for beauty product brands that sell through salons and to the people who sit in their chairs, including Mermaid Extension Care. We plan the month, write the captions, cut the video, post under the brand’s name and answer the comments and messages.

Do salon marketing agencies work with product brands, or only salons?+

Storm works with both. Working inside salons every week is the advantage: we know how a stylist recommends a product in the chair, and what the client asks before she buys it.

How is social media for a product brand different from a salon’s?+

A salon post wants a booking. A product post wants two things: for her to ask for it by name, and to buy it again when it runs out. So the content starts with the problem the product solves, shows the product second, and keeps going after the first sale.

Who is the content for, the stylist or the client?+

Both. The stylist recommends it in the chair and the client buys it at home. The feed gives the stylist the words and gives the client the reason.

What do you need from us?+

The product, what it does, who it is for, and why you made it. Footage from production or the salon floor helps, and we send a shot list for it.

What does it cost?+

We quote it on the call, after we have looked at the brand’s accounts. Month to month, no contract and no termination fee.
